It’s time for one of those miscellaneous bits n’ pieces posts, folk. Bear with me…

Let’s start off with what’s new. Well, a couple weeks ago, an old friend left a message on my answering machine. I hadn’t talked with her in about six or so years. She’s back in my life a bit now and I’m liking that. I’ve known this woman for half my life. I’m looking forward to having my new/old friend around again.

What else is new? Well, there’s a new theme here at Nocturnal Slacker v2.0. I hope you like it. It’s called Black-Letterhead. The background and custom header are mine, though. The quote is Edna St. Vincent Millay’s. Hey! Edna is the name of my friend mentioned above. Isn’t that cool how that worked out? I didn’t plan it that way. Really.

My little ‘mater plants are growing up. They’re already twice the size they were when I planted them in their bigger buckets. I’ll have me some ‘maters in just a little while. Yum! Speaking of ‘maters and salad and dieting. We weren’t talking about that? Well, close enough. Anyway, I’m ten stinking pounds away from my goal of 185 lbs. It’s beginning to aggravate me. Plateaus suck, unless, of course, you’re caught in a flood.

Hey! Have y’all been watching that new program on NBC on Monday nights, Harry’s Law? Kathy Bates plays an X-patent lawyer/newbie criminal lawyer. There’s also a great supporting cast. You should give it a watch. Unfortunately, I think tonight is the season finale. Seasons sure are short nowadays. Back in the 60s and 70s a full season was about 26 episodes. Nowadays, the actors get paid 10 times as much and work 1/4 of the time. Good deal for them, though. Huh?

Oh, on a techy note… my buddy Mike brought me a box of computer goodies yesterday. In there was a complete (disassembled, though) Pentium IV Compaq system. I put that baby back together along with a hard drive and some RAM from my own collection of computer junk and created ericsshop01 system. So now I have a system set up outside in my workshop. Cool, huh?

My brother’s busier than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest, it seems. However, he does seem to be enjoying his new job up in Fairfax, VA. He’s not liking the traffic when he has to venture into D.C., but I haven’t heard him complain about anything else much. Oh, he is having some issues with the still winter weather up there. He is a Florida boy, after all.

Hmm… that’s about it for me this time, folks. As always, thanks for reading and commenting on my silly ramblings.

Later…

~Eric
