Since the weather has cooled off a bit down here in sunny (and HOT) Florida, I’ve been going out and about on my daily walks around the neighborhood.
I do this mostly for exercise. I try to walk 2-4 miles a day. I also do it for enjoyment. I live in the same neighborhood where I grew up, so walking around is like a trip down memory lane every day. I’m amazed at how much has changed, and yet… so much is the same as when I was a child 40+ years ago.
The schools my friends and I attended are still standing. The churches, some of the little stores, friends houses, etc.; are all still there in some form or another. Even some of those friends or the parents are still living in their same homes. Quite a few of my aunts and uncles live in this neighborhood, too. I walk by their homes often. I’ll be walking to my uncle Pete’s house for coffee in just a little while, actually.
I put on my new Coleman hikers and stick the ear pieces of my new little mp3 player in my ears and off I go. I just pick a direction and walk for about 1-1.5 hours. I might even grab a cup of coffee somewhere on the route. It’s really enjoyable… and good for me, as long as I don’t get mugged or run over. 😉 It’s a beautiful day out there today. I’m outta’ here…

I enjoy walking too. It helps against stress and keeps your blood pressure down. Exercise is good, we were built to move, not sit on a couch munching crisps all day long.
I don’t have a couch. I sit at this damned computer desk all day. 😉
