On the heels of my article of yesterday regarding diabetes and diet management, I run across this…
From CNN Health:

For 10 weeks, Mark Haub, a professor of human nutrition at Kansas State University, ate one of these sugary cakelets every three hours, instead of meals. To add variety in his steady stream of Hostess and Little Debbie snacks, Haub munched on Doritos chips, sugary cereals and Oreos, too.
Cool diet, huh? If you remove the caloric restriction that the professor set for himself, you would basically have the current Great American diet of most teens and young adults… sugary sodas, sugary snacks, hi-carb meals.
Of course, you can lose weight with restricted caloric intake and increased activity, but what you eat is important also. Read the piece. It’s pretty interesting.
