Rays Get Hammered

Those nasty BoSox boys did a number to my pretty Rays today. Of course, when pitching and defense leaves the park in the 8th inning, the opposing team is bound to score a few points. We were just sandbaggin’, guys. We’ll be kicking your arses all over Fenway tomorrow and Sunday. GO RAYS!

A Quick Rays Update

The Rays started off the 2012 season with a BANG! They swept the highly overpaid and overrated Yankees right on out of town. Heh! The Rays are in Detroit at the moment. They lost the first game of the series and of this season against the Tigers when their pitching and defense collapsed a bit [...]

It’s That Time Again, Folks…

… time to PLAY BALL! Here we are with Spring Training nearly over and the season starting, and I haven’t posted one baseball article here yet. What’s up with that? I’m sad to admit that I haven’t even listened to one Spring Training game on the radio this year, either. I just haven’t been in [...]

Goodnight 2011 Season

Well, as of yesterday, my Rays have put their 2011 baseball season to bed. We lasted three games past our arch rival Boston Red Sox this year. I guess that’s something. While the Rays had an awesome season, they just couldn’t pull it out against the Rangers. The team lacks the heavy hitters. We really [...]

Tampa Bay Rays 2011 AL Wildcard Team

Woo-hoo! Last night the Tampa Bay Rays pulled off what will most assuredly become a legendary comeback to beat the NY Yankees in the bottom of the 12th inning at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL. Simultaneously, the Boston Red Sox cap off a legendary end-season collapse. Is it just me, or do the BoSox [...]

Fresh Cut Grass, the Buzz of Bees, and Baseball! (Revisited)

Fresh Cut Grass, the Buzz of Bees, and Baseball! Posted by V. T. Eric Layton on Apr 6, 2010 It must be getting close to summertime! I don’t like the hot, humid Florida summers these days as much as I did when I was a kid. Of course, I loved summertime back then because it [...]

I Hear Lawnmowers and Blowers

Spring is in the air down here in Tampa, folks. I’ve been feeling the warmth and smelling the scent of it all day today. The lawnmowers are running all over the neighborhood. I also hear the chain saws and wood chippers as folks are out doing the spring yard work. I sure hope they read [...]

Baseball Needs NFL-Type Salary Cap and Profit Sharing

OK, folks… here we are at the end of another MLB season. What’s happening? The player shuffle. Every year at this time, and up until just before spring training, teams all over are shuffling players and payrolls like there’s no tomorrow; which there may not be, if the greedy MLB owners don’t agree to level [...]
